For me today, I would like to know if anyone can recommend a movie version of "Emma" by Jane Austen.
Last weekend, my family enjoyed watching the A and E movie version of "Pride and Prejudice" together. We really liked it, and we also like the "Pride and Prejudice" movie with Kiera Knightley.
We were not as impressed with the "Sense and Sensibility" by Emma Thompson however, so if you have a good recommendation for another version, I would love to hear that too! :)

The A&E version of 'Emma' starring Kate Beckinsale is my favorite. It's actually going to be on the PBS series Masterpiece Theatre on March 23, I believe. There's another version, a feature film starring Gwyneth Paltrow, that is pretty good too, but I like the A&E one the best.

If you love Jane Austen then the original BBC productions, which they did in late 70's and early 80's would be the choice No.1. They are absolutely fabulous, true to character, almost word for word- you could follow them with a book;);)and the heroines of the stories have none of the modern attitude one finds in the most recent productions. You are literally transported in time!
I have the whole set of them and my favorite is Emma, although I also like Persuasion- it is a more mature work, it seems. I like the sentiment of the true feelings enduring despite elapsed time and separation.
